Hello All!

Yesterday, I posted a review for "Sue’s Seduction" by Saylor Storm.  As part of the review process, I also had the opportunity to do a brief interview with the author, which I wanted to share.  Let me know what you think!

MTG: Do you have a favorite book(s)?  I know it’s often impossible to narrow it down to one, so just pick one (or a few) that is a new favorite or consistent “go-to”.

Saylor: That is very hard to narrow down, there are so many. One of my longtime “go-to” books is “The Twelve Sacred Principles” of Karma by Steven Hairfield. It’s filled with practical lessons in life and love, a book that I believe everyone should read at some point in their lives.

MTG: Where do you find inspiration for your books?  Is anything inspired by real-life or do you typically let your imagination run wild?

Saylor: I find inspiration everywhere! Someone may say something in passing and I will get an idea for an entire book. I have a science fiction novel in mind that was inspired solely by a glass of iced tea! Usually I take something from real life and run with it!

MTG: What would be your advice for aspiring writers?

Saylor: Just start writing! We all have to start somewhere. Writing only gets easier and better with time.

MTG: Who is your favorite character for you to write (in all your books)?

Saylor: Susan Kent, from the “Sue’s Journey Trilogy” was definitely the most fun to write. I loved taking her from an unhappy middle aged woman and turning back the clock 35 years. It was amusing to imagine all the trouble that she could get into!

MTG: Why romance books?

Saylor: I always knew I would write one day, but I thought it would be children’s books. One day I was sitting in a divorce attorney’s office waiting for an initial consultation and all of the sudden I felt like a character in a romance novel.  The idea for a chapter came to me right there and a few months later I was hiking and the ideas for rest of the book came to me.

MTG: Where do you usually find yourself writing?

Saylor: Most of the time I prefer to write at my desk. I have two monitors, one for writing and the other for research. I also have an ergonomic keyboard and a view of Mt. Tallac from my window, elevation 7,900 feet!

MTG: What books are you reading now?

Saylor: “The Science of Love” by John Baines as research for my monthly magazine article in “Cover It” magazine and “An Ideal Wine” by David Arlington as preparation for level 2 sommelier certification.

MTG: Do you have any upcoming projects?

Saylor: We have a book of love trivia coming out in November. My first romance thriller, “Basking in the Light”, will be out in March and the third book in the Sue’s Journey Trilogy, “Sue’s Legacy”, will be out in April.

About the Author:

Saylor Storm takes something from real life and turns it into something fun, and perhaps a bit twisted. Reality becomes fantasy, or is that imagination turns into real life experience? Her stories include places where she has lived or visited from the beaches of Malibu to Islands of Fiji and destinations in between. Love and passion are at the root of her novels; after all isn’t that what life is all about? Storm is a long-time resident of beautiful Lake Tahoe. Saylor is currently working on several new books and loves to hear from her readers!
