Review:
Ultimately this is a series that I had invested too much time to avoid finishing up, but I had gotten a little mentally exhausted on. The novel didn’t really resonate and part of it was definitely because there were so many characters that it made it difficult to keep track of everyone. The grieving process was also a pretty strong theme in the book and it became pretty exhausting in the middle of everything else going on in the world. The other thing that started to get a bit old was that all, and I mean all, of the characters seemed to engage in some level of romance which felt a little unnecessary.
There are an additional two series that will be coming out in the Shadowhunter series and I don’t think that I’ll be continuing with them.
