Review:

This is a book written in verse (which I didn’t realize when I picked it up) and is a fantastic change of pace and so refreshing.  I love the way the book unfolds, following Michael as he grows up and into himself.  There’s a beautiful self-discovery the way it’s laid out and it really is as relatable as it is heart-wrenching at moments.

It’s a coming-of-age story that I feel really is something that everyone should read.  The book doesn’t shy away from addressing race, gender identify, and sexuality – really everything that people need to have more exposure to in order to normalize the topics. Make sure this one is on your list!

Rating: 5 stars!
